When I think of the list of reasons I started my consulting business (before Aisle Planner came into my life), money wasn’t one of them. But, it definitely was one of the things that scared me after I did.
I had decided to take the plunge into self-employment because a) I figured out that I did not fit into the corporate world, b) I had an idea of what would be fulfilling and challenging for me and wanted to try to build a career for myself, and c) it was the right time for me to take the risk – so, why the hell not? I did not assume that being self-employed was going to leave me rolling in the dough (hence it not being on the list of motivators) rather, my new reality of being responsible for finding and billing every dollar that landed in my bank account felt like an enormous amount of pressure.
How am I going to make enough money to cover my household bills?
How am I going to cover the costs of running my business?
How am I ever going to make enough to save for my future?
Soon enough, I ended up with more questions (about way more than just how I was going to make enough) than answers. So, this year on the Aisle Planner pro-blog, we are going to be focusing our efforts on finding those answers, pointing you in the right direction, and hooking you up with the professional resources you need to make your business thrive. Each month will be dedicated to a different aspect of running a business. From marketing, operations, branding, and legal, we’re pretty much going to cover it all; in the most brutally-honest-but-we-love-you way. And, we’re kicking off 2018 with the topic of money.
Money is something that people are often afraid to admit that they are flying by the seat of their pants on or shooting in the dark. So, this month we are going to concentrate not on earning money, but rather, all of the things you need to do with it in order to make your financial goals become a reality.
Get ready for a month of serious money talk and a year of growth people – because we’re all in for you in 2018!
