Aisle Planners Answer: Upgrading Things for Your Clients

Aisle Planners Answer: Upgrading Things for Your Clients
November 08, 2017
Sometimes as a wedding professional (ok, a lot of the time) you go above and beyond for your couples. Whether it's pulling off a mission-impossible-last-minute request or dealing with a rowdy family member, you do plenty of things that aren't in the contract. So today, we wanted to talk about those times that you decide to go WAY beyond "above and beyond" and upgrade things for your clients. Keep reading to see what members of our community had to say about what they do and why they do it.

"We have specialty decor pieces like beautiful cake stands, brass and silver candlesticks, gauze table runners, etc. that we bring to client weddings and add as sweet styled touches to each of the key vignettes. And, for both on-site or off-site ceremonies, we will complimentarily relocate and style smaller florals and decor from the ceremony to the reception." - Kate of Kate & Co. Events

"One of my upgrades is a Wedding Party Bootcamp. This 2 hour session teaches everyone in the wedding party the expectations from the bride as well as the duties of each member in the wedding party." - Janet of Turn of Events

"I upgraded a few linens for the sweetheart table and cake table for a client because she and her family were so sweet. Her father was planning the venue portion for her and was going through a battle of cancer. For another sweet couple from New York, I brought in Momo Fuku milk bar treats to wrap for guests from the client because they couldn't use them for their cake like they wanted. They were floored!" - Mandi of A Sparkling Event

"We often get clients who book our management package because they think they can handle all the planning. It happens pretty often that we’ll upgrade to a partial or full planning package because they realize how stressful planning a wedding is!" - Hayley of Fairytale Pursuits

"I had a couple I absolutely adored. They trusted my guidance and followed their budget to a tee. Upgrading the sweetheart table was not in the budget but as my gift to them I created the sweetheart table she wanted. I upgraded linen and candle package." - Yolanda of Enchanted Weddings by Design

"I'll upgrade their sweetheart table as a surprise -- linens, chargers, acrylic die-cut place cards. I've also done die-cuts of their wedding hashtag and scattered them through the venue." - Lynne of The Gilded Aisle Weddings

"We carry extra filler decor such as bud vases and pillars with us and will request extra stems and greenery (free to client) be left from our preferred florists to jazz up the gaps." - Felecia of Wed and Prosper

"I just recently had a bride that wanted a simple seating chart created, which I did. And then to match her other signs that she purchased for a different vendor, I put it in one of my own gold frames as a surprise. She loved it! I also had a special relationship with one of my grooms. He had a thing for Twinkies and they weren’t having a grooms cake. So I made one for him as a surprise, complete with Twinkie lunchbox container topper. " - Diana of Eventistry by Diana
